how to care for your ceramic pieces

Each piece of Terrara Estate ceramics has been made with care, and we want it to give you daily pleasure for many years.

The unique nature of these handcrafted organic forms means they all have their own idiosyncrasies. It is these elements that contribute to the individuality of each piece and are to be cherished.

While made of vitrified clay and glazed for functional and aesthetic beauty, it is recommended that you handwash your pieces rather than place them in the dishwasher.

They can go in the dishwasher but please be aware that as with any ceramics, this may reduce their longevity and signs of patina may appear sooner.

The same goes for the microwave. The high and often inconsistent heat can cause early development of patina such as crazing.

Natural changes in the surface overtime (such as crazing) are normal parts of ceramic patina development. It’s nothing to be concerned about and is a sign of the pleasure you have gained from its use.
