The plates are an irregularly round form and are painted with underglazes in vibrant abstract designs. They are finished with a clear gloss glaze with the underside of the plates left unglazed so the natural surface of the clay can be experienced.
The clay I have used to make these plates contain small particles and minerals that melt when fired and create a beautiful fine speckle that reminds me of moondust. I refer to the pieces I make with this clay as the Luna Collection.
Large plates are 25cm in diameter and medium are 20cm.
